US Seeks More Info On NOV's $2.5B Robbins & Myers Offer

Law360, New York (October 9, 2012, 8:44 PM EDT) -- The federal government has requested additional information and documents over drilling equipment manufacturer National Oilwell Varco's proposed acquisition of Robbins & Myers Inc. in a deal valuing the Ohio-based specialty oil-drilling parts maker at $2.5 billion, the companies announced Tuesday.

Issued under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, the so-called second request from the U.S. Department of Justice automatically extends the waiting period imposed under the federal law until 30 days after the companies have complied with that solicitation.
