State Wage Claims Upheld Against Kosher Meatpacker

Law360 (October 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An Iowa federal court judge has refused to dismiss state wage-and-hour claims filed by a purported class of underpaid workers from Agriprocessors, one of the largest kosher meatpacking companies in the U.S.

Judge Linda Reade of the Northern District of Iowa denied Agriprocessors' motion to dismiss the workers' Iowa Wage Payment Collection Law class claims based on procedural differences that conflicted with the worker's federal Fair Labor Standards Act collective action claims.
