NJ Assembly Panel Clears Health Exchange Bill

Law360, New York (October 11, 2012, 4:43 PM EDT) -- New Jersey legislation that would create a health insurance exchange for businesses and the uninsured continued to advance Thursday, with a state Assembly panel approving the measure despite business concerns that it could establish duplicative regulatory processes and limit choices for purchasers.

The Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee cleared the New Jersey Health Benefit Exchange Act in a 6-4 vote, amending the measure to bring it line with an identical bill that the state Senate passed last week in a 21-17 vote.
