Bankruptcy Judge Blasts DOJ Over Hidden Probe

Law360, New York (October 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A bankruptcy judge lashed out at the U.S. Department of Justice over its failure to warn her about a previous investigation into a consulting firm involved in an array of Chapter 11 cases, accusing the agency of helping to perpetuate the alleged fraud.

On Thursday, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Judith Fitzgerald expressed her distress over the DOJ's refusal to notify her of its supposedly defunct probe into the suspicious billing practices of L. Tersigni Consulting, Dow Jones reported.
