Feds Probing CVS Prescription Refill Practices

Law360, New York (October 12, 2012, 2:20 PM EDT) -- The U.S. is investigating drugstore giant CVS Caremark Corp. for allegedly refilling prescriptions and submitting insurance claims to Medicare without patient consent, a government official reportedly said Friday.

The Office of the Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has started the investigation into the potentially fraudulent refill practices, Los Angeles Times columnist David Lazarus reported, citing an official with knowledge of the matter.
