Australia Fines Airline Emirates $10M For Cargo Price-Fixing

Law360, New York (October 12, 2012, 12:27 PM EDT) -- An Australian judge on Friday ordered Emirates to pay $10 million in fines for engaging in an air freight price-fixing cartel, the tenth airline to settle charges brought by the country's competition regulators.

Emirates was ordered by Justice Anna Judith Katzmann to hand over the fine after admitting that it conspired with other international airlines to fix surcharges and fees on freight carried by the airline.
