Nissan Wins Jury Trial In Suit Linking Crash To Defect

Law360, New York (October 15, 2012, 8:58 PM EDT) -- A California jury found Friday that Nissan North America Inc. is not liable for a two-car accident that severely injured two people, according to Nissan's attorneys, even though the automaker allegedly recalled the vehicle at issue over a defect that led to crashes.

A jury found the design of the crankshaft position sensor in a 2005 Nissan Altima did not serve as a substantial factor in the harm suffered by plaintiffs in a 2007 car crash, according to Nissan counsel Bowman and Brooke LLP.
