Ad Group DMA Kicks Off Campaign To Defend Data Mining

Law360, New York (October 16, 2012, 6:00 PM EDT) -- Advertising trade group the Direct Marketing Association said Monday it was launching a new campaign aimed at countering unfavorable media scrutiny and increasing government regulation of data-mining tactics often seen as an invasive of consumer privacy.

The DMA’s new Data-Driven Marketing Institute, announced during the association’s annual trade meeting in Las Vegas, purports to educate both consumers and policymakers as to the various ways in which data-driven marketing can benefit consumers directly and fuel the economy.
