Sanyo, Panasonic, Yamaha Settle Thumb Drive Patent Battle

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 7:13 PM EDT) -- Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd., Panasonic Corp. and Yamaha Corp. are among the latest electronics giants to settle patent disputes brought in Texas and the U.S. International Trade Commission by patent-holding firm Anu IP LLC, ending allegations that they infringed Anu's patents on retractable USB devices.

Sanyo, Panasonic and Yamaha and Anu agreed to settle the Texas lawsuits last week, according to documents filed with the ITC. Centon Electronics Inc. agreed to terminate a similar case Tuesday, while Office Depot Inc. agreed to settle Anu's case against...
