Dana Asks Court To Approve Asbestos Settlements

Law360, New York (October 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dana Corp. is asking for a judge's approval of about $2 million in settlement agreements covering 7,500 of the approximately 150,000 asbestos-related personal injury claims against the bankrupt auto parts supplier.

Dana filed its motion for approval to enter into the agreements — which were filed under seal — on Friday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

According to Dana's motion, sealing the agreements was necessary because of the “highly sensitive and private nature” of the information contained therein....
