Judge Keeps Alive Livermore Lab Workers' Age Bias Claims

Law360, New York (October 17, 2012, 6:22 PM EDT) -- A California state judge has determined that Lawrence Livermore National Security LLC must continue to face certain age discrimination allegations lodged by 130 former employees who were laid off from the company's research lab, attorneys for the workers said Wednesday.

California Superior Court Judge Robert B. Freedman denied a motion for summary judgment filed by LLNS, allowing the group of former lab workers to proceed with claims that the company violated anti-discrimination laws by disproportionately targeting older workers in a 2008 mass layoff.
