Hawker To Emerge As Stand-Alone Co. After Failed $1.8B Sale

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 3:27 PM EDT) -- Hawker Beechcraft Inc. said Thursday that it would emerge from Chapter 11 protection as a stand-alone company after talks to sell the company to a Chinese bidder for $1.8 billion had failed. 

Hawker Beechcraft CEO Robert S. Miller said in a public statement Thursday that the company’s planned sale to China-based Superior Aviation Beijing Co. Ltd. had failed and that the the company would emerge from bankruptcy as Beechcraft Corp., focusing its business on turboprop, piston, special mission, and trainer and attack aircraft products.
