Trading Technologies Wins Another Settlement In Futures Patent Litigation

By Marius Meland (August 15, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Trading Technologies Inc. is pressing on with its international campaign to win licensing agreements for its futures trading software, forcing yet another settlement with a major industry player.

FFastFill Plc, a London-based derivatives application provider, agreed to the deal Monday, less than two weeks after Chicago-based Trading Tech filed its complaint in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The two patents cover Trading Tech's "MD Trader" technology, embedded in its popular "X-Trader" software. The software gives futures traders an order-entry system that shows market depth via a ladder-like display on an electronic trading screen.
