Calif. Air District To Ramp Up Oversight After Chevron Fire

Law360, San Diego (October 18, 2012, 10:04 PM EDT) -- Prompted by the August fire at Chevron Corp.’s refinery in Richmond, Calif., a regional air quality watchdog has approved a new plan to improve how it monitors pollution following refinery incidents, it said Wednesday.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District Board of Directors voted in favor of a work plan that aims to step up its regulatory response and communications systems in order to help other agencies that are responding to inadvertent emission releases from industrial facilities.
