Commerce Launches Probe Of Chinese Plywood Imports

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 7:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce said Thursday that it launched anti-dumping and countervailing duty probes aimed at imports of hardwood and decorative plywood from China, after U.S. companies petitioned the government for tariffs at the end of September.

The Coalition for Fair Trade of Hardwood Plywood — a group made of of Columbia Forest Products, Commonwealth Plywood Inc., Timber Products Co. and others — are alleging dumping margins of more than 300 percent.
