Middle-Market M&A Volume Down, Speed Up, Report Says

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 5:45 PM EDT) -- Middle-market mergers and acquisitions activity is down for the first half of 2012, but the deals that have succeeded have taken much less time to close, according to a study released Thursday by Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP.

In the first six months of this year, only five deals in the $100 million to $500 million range were signed, compared to 11 such deals during the same time period last year, according to the report. And all five of the deals took place in the second...
