ACLU, Others Ask Court To Stop Pa.'s Voter ID Media Blitz

Law360, New York (October 19, 2012, 6:24 PM EDT) -- Public interest groups that blocked the implementation of Pennsylvania's controversial voter ID plan filed a petition in state court Friday seeking to halt the state's media campaign urging voters to still bring their IDs to polling places.

In the petition filed in Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia, Advancement Project, the ACLU of Pennsylvania  and Arnold & Porter LLP told Judge Robert Simpson that the state's media blitz was likely to discourage potential voters from showing up on Election Day.
