NJ Business Groups Object To Minimum Wage Measure

Law360, New York (October 22, 2012, 6:08 PM EDT) -- Business groups on Monday blasted a proposed constitutional amendment in New Jersey that would boost the state's minimum wage to $8.25 and peg future increases to the Consumer Price Index, telling lawmakers it would burden employers with rising labor costs without any guarantee they can afford it.

The state Senate Labor Committee held a public hearing on a proposal by Senate President Stephen Sweeney, D-Gloucester, to place the initiative before voters in 2013.
