Southern Union Claims Innocence In Mercury Scandal

Law360, New York (October 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Holding fast to its story, Southern Union Co. pled not guilty Monday to federal charges that it illegally stored mercury at a Pawtucket, R.I., site and failed to report mercury spillage.

At an arraignment Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, attorney John A. Tarantino of Adler Pollock & Sheehan PC, one of the firms representing Southern Union in the matter, entered a not guilty plea on behalf of the company.
