Microsoft To Clarify Data Use Pact After Lawmaker Backlash

Law360, New York (October 23, 2012, 8:58 PM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. will revise its new services agreement to clarify that it will not use its enhanced ability to gather consumer information across several of its Web-based platforms to serve targeted advertising, the company revealed Tuesday, following a congressman's recent voicing of privacy concerns.
