AT&T Wins Reversal Of $156M Infringement Verdict

Law360 (October 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a dramatic reversal, a federal judge overturned a jury's verdict that AT&T Corp. willfully infringed two calling-card system patents held by TGIP Inc. and vacated the $156 million damages award.

Judge Ron Clark of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas entered his final judgment Monday, granting AT&T's motion for judgment as a matter of law on two of the telecom giant's proposed grounds and tossing the verdict. His judgment is appealable, he noted.
