Hexcel, DOJ Settle For $15M Over Bulletproof Vests

Law360 (October 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Carbon fiber company Hexcel Corp. has agreed to pay $15 million to settle allegations that it wove defective Zylon fiber into bulletproof vests and thus, put the lives of hundreds of thousands of law enforcement officers at risk.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Monday that Hexcel had also agreed to cooperate in the government's investigation of other participants involved in the alleged fraud as part of the settlement.
