Effexor Pay-For-Delay Suit Awaits High Court's K-Dur Answer

Law360, New York (October 24, 2013, 11:43 AM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge on Tuesday said seven lawsuits alleging a pay-for-delay deal regarding Wyeth LLC's antidepressant Effexor XR can't continue until the U.S. Supreme Court decides whether it will hear a similar Third Circuit case involving blood pressure medication K-Dur.

U.S District Judge Joel A. Pisano suspended two class actions and five lawsuits at the behest of Wyeth and co-defendant Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc., agreeing with the companies' argument that the court should wait for the high court's decision before proceeding.
