UPMC Claims Highmark Funded 'Sham Lawsuit'

Law360, New York (October 24, 2012, 6:39 PM EDT) -- The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center on Tuesday accused Highmark Inc. of aiding a “collusive, sham lawsuit” that blames the hospital for soaring health plan rates, saying a $4.8 million settlement the insurer inked this month merely funds a business agenda disguised as consumer advocacy.
