Troubleshooting Calif.'s Deposition Rule Overhaul

Law360, New York (October 25, 2012, 12:00 AM EDT) -- On Sept. 17, 2012, Gov. Jerry Brown signed AB-1875 into law, which brings California one step closer to curbing perceived abuses of increasing costs in the litigation process.

The California legislature initially approved AB-1875 on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, which was sponsored by Democratic Assemblyman Mike Gatto from Burbank, Calif. It amends California Code of Civil Procedure Section 2025.290, which applies to oral depositions in civil cases.
