Judge Makes Key Ruling In $800M Suit Vs. Compaq, Seagate

Law360 (August 18, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in New York has issued a Markman decision in an $800 million patent and trade-secrets lawsuit brought by Convolve Inc. and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology against Compaq Computer Corp. and Seagate Technology LLC.

“Judge George B. Daniels interpreted 11 phrases in dispute and ruled on Aug. 9 that in every case the terms had the meaning that Convolve and MIT said they had,” their counsel, the law firm Greenberg Traurig, said in a statement.
