Law360, New York (October 26, 2012, 1:12 PM EDT) -- Village Voice Media Holdings LLC on Thursday sued Yelp Inc. in Arizona federal court, alleging the review website infringed service marks the newspaper publisher holds on its "best of" lists in certain cities.
Village Voice Media, which owns a network of weekly newspapers in cities across the country, said that Yelp's city-specific homepages include listings under titles including "The Best of Houston" and "The Best of St. Louis," which represent infringement of service marks the newspaper publisher has on its "best of" lists in those cities, according to the suit.
