Watson Sheds Rugby OTC Drug Line In $117M Deal

Law360, New York (October 29, 2012, 4:54 PM EDT) -- Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. has agreed to let generic drugmaker The Harvard Drug Group LLC snap up its Rugby product line and trademarks in a $117 million deal, the companies announced Monday.

Under the terms of the deal, Livonia, Mich.-based HDG, a manufacturer and distributor of private label over-the-counter and generic prescription products under the Major Pharmaceuticals brand name, has acquired both the Rugby trademark and all rights to manufacture, sell and distribute more than 250 Rugby-branded OTC pharmaceutical, vitamin and nutritional supplement products, as well as...
