EMC Drops Up To $400M On Web Security Startup Silver Tail

Law360, New York (October 30, 2012, 3:45 PM EDT) -- Data storage company EMC Corp. will swallow up venture capital-backed Web fraud detection startup Silver Tail Systems, the buyer said Tuesday, fleshing out its security division in a deal reportedly worth as much as $400 million.

The companies did not name a purchase price, but the Wall Street Journal pegged it between $300 million and $400 million, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the deal.
