Government Whistleblowers Got $177M In FY07

Law360, New York (November 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Of the $2 billion the U.S. Department of Justice brought in during fiscal year 2007 in suits alleging fraud against the government, $1.45 billion was associated with suits brought under the False Claims Act's whistleblower provision, with the individuals that blew the whistle getting at least $177 million during that period, according to figures released Thursday by the U.S. Department of Justice.
