Pa., NJ Bar Hurricane Insurance Deductibles For Sandy Claims

Law360, New York (November 2, 2012, 7:29 PM EDT) -- Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett barred insurers from imposing hurricane deductibles on homeowners who have been rocked by Hurricane Sandy, noting the storm was not technically a hurricane when it made landfall, while New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie made a similar declaration Friday.

The announcements will allow Pennsylvania and New Jersey homeowners to pay standard deductibles for their storm-related damage and save them from paying higher hurricane deductibles, in an effort to boost recovery in both states.
