NY AG Investigating Post-Sandy Price-Gouging

Law360, New York (November 5, 2012, 4:31 PM EST) -- New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Monday his office is investigating possible price-gouging for food, water, gas and hotel rooms in the wake of Hurricane Sandy after receiving hundreds of complaints from consumers across the state.

Schneiderman said in a statement that the office could not comment on the specifics of the investigation, but that consumers from New York City, the Hudson Valley and Long Island had all reported instances of jacked-up prices.
