Transitions Must Produce FTC Probe Docs, Judge Rules

Law360, New York (November 6, 2012, 7:19 PM EST) -- A Florida federal judge on Monday ordered Transitions Optical Inc. to turn over documents related to a Federal Trade Commission investigation into the company's business practices, ruling the information was relevant to antitrust claims made by putative purchaser classes in multidistrict litigation.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth A. Jenkins said Transitions, which is facing allegations in the MDL that it engaged in anti-competitive tactics to keep prices high for a line of ultraviolet-ray-resistant lenses, must provide putative direct and indirect purchaser classes with two sets of documents...
