State Farm Strikes Back At Mississippi AG

Law360, New York (November 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- State Farm Insurance Co. has fired off a lawsuit against Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood for purportedly reneging on an agreement to bury a criminal probe into the insurer's handling of Hurricane Katrina claims.

On Friday, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi unsealed papers revealing the insurance giant had slapped Hood with a complaint of its own in September as the legal tug-of-war between the two sides continues to play out.
