Inventio Sues ThyssenKrupp Over Elevator Patent

Law360, New York (November 7, 2012, 9:36 PM EST) -- Swiss company Inventio AG sued ThyssenKrupp Elevators Corp. on Tuesday in New York federal court, alleging elevators located in buildings in Times Square and 1 World Trade Center in lower Manhattan infringe a patent covering an elevator installation method.

Inventio, a unit of Schindler Elevator Corp., claims the ThyssenKrupp elevators infringe U.S. Patent Number 5,689,094 entitled “Elevator Installation,” which identifies and transports passengers based on their electronically readable badges.
