Edwards Wins Invalidity Ruling In Medtronic Patent Row

Law360, New York (November 14, 2012, 10:00 PM EST) -- Edwards Lifesciences Corp. beat back a lawsuit from Medtronic CoreValve LLC over transcatheter heart valve technology Tuesday, when a California federal judge ruled that all the asserted claims of a Medtronic prosthetic valve patent were invalid.  

U.S. District Judge James Selna granted a June 29 motion from Edwards Lifesciences that sought summary judgment of invalidity with respect to Medtronic's sole asserted patent and directed Edwards' counsel to draw up a proposed judgment in accordance with the ruling.
