Pennsylvania Steps Up Fight Against Power Corridors

Law360, New York (November 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pennsylvania has asked for a rehearing on the U.S. Department of Energy's decision to include a bulk of the state in one of the massive electric transmission corridors that many say will allow power companies to ignore state objections.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission on Monday petitioned the DOE to rehear the state's arguments against designating three-quarters of its land to the “mid-Atlantic national interest electric transmission corridor.” The commission asked the DOE to stay the assignment until a new decision is issued.
