Caterpillar Seeks Sanctions In Miller Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (November 16, 2012, 6:27 PM EST) -- In a bitter trans-Atlantic trade secrets dispute between two earthmoving manufacturers, Caterpillar Inc. asked an Illinois federal court on Thursday to impose $20,000 in sanctions, claiming Miller UK Ltd. stonewalled a recent deposition and dragged its feet in discovery.

In a heavily-redacted motion for sanctions, the Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar accused Miller of playing a "game of hide the ball" by improperly withholding factual information and failing to identify specific facts supporting their trade secrets theft claim.
