Hostess To Liquidate After Spoiled Bankruptcy Efforts

Law360, New York (November 16, 2012, 6:06 PM EST) -- Beleaguered food company Hostess Brands Inc., owner of the iconic Twinkie and Wonder Bread brands, said Friday that it would liquidate the company, wind down operations and sell off its brands after its bankruptcy proceedings in New York federal court were hampered by a labor strike.

The decision to liquidate and wind down Hostess' considerable food making operations came after unsuccessful attempts to end the strike, which was organized by the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union and affected two-thirds of Hostess' 33 bakeries...
