Post-Sandy Bill Would Require Generators At NY Fuel Pumps

Law360, New York (November 16, 2012, 2:03 PM EST) -- The Rockland County, N.Y., lawmaker who introduced the state's first piece of post-Superstorm Sandy legislation said Friday that gas stations near highways and evacuation routes should be prepared to keep the electricity on using generators when the next storm hits.

Fuel terminals, wholesalers and many gas stations would be required by September 2014 to purchase and install generators that would keep them in business during power outages under a bill introduced Thursday by state Sen. David Carlucci, a Democrat.
