LED Battle Between Seoul Semi And Nichia Heats Up

Law360 (November 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A current trial pitting Seoul Semiconductor Co. Ltd. against Nichia Corp. over light emitting diode patents has not stopped the technology companies' intellectual property battle from spilling over into other courts.

Seoul filed a new suit against Nichia and its U.S. subsidiary on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging infringement of a patent covering semiconductor LED devices.

Seoul accused Nichia of infringing the patent through its manufacture and sale of gallium nitride-based semiconductors having model numbers NSPG500S and NS6W083T....
