Honeywell, Others To Pay $4.5M For NJ Superfund Cleanup

Law360, New York (November 16, 2012, 7:40 PM EST) -- Honeywell International Inc., BASF Corp., ExxonMobil Corp. and others on Friday agreed to a $4.5 million consent decree with the federal government over a Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act lawsuit to recover cleanup costs from a Superfund site in New Jersey.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency sued the companies to recoup the costs of remediating the release or threatened release of hazardous substances into the environment at the Quanta Resources Corp. Superfund Site in Edgewater, N.J. Honeywell said it will take over the cleanup...
