Feds Net 2 Guilty Verdicts In $205M Medicare Fraud Case

Law360, New York (November 16, 2012, 7:01 PM EST) -- A Florida federal jury on Thursday convicted two Miami-area health professionals for their roles in a massive $205 million Medicare fraud and kickback scheme that prosecutors said was one of the most “brazen in recent memory.”

Mental health counselor Nichole Eckert and therapist Lydia Ward were convicted on one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud for their role in the scheme, which already has landed its organizers in prison and led to guilty pleas from several others.
