Cartier Wins $30M Judgment Against Watch Counterfeiter

Law360, New York (November 19, 2012, 7:50 PM EST) -- Cartier International AG on Monday won a $30 million judgment against a counterfeit watch seller after the seller, one of several defendants named in a trademark infringement suit against alleged New York Chinatown counterfeiters, failed to appear in federal court.

U.S. District Judge Katherine B. Forrest ordered Nam Dong Jameson Hon to pay the $30 million plus $272,528 in attorneys' fees and more than $100,000 in costs for infringing 15 Cartier trademarks, entering a default judgment against Hon on Cartier's trademark infringement, dilution and unfair competition...
