Hacker Convicted Of Passing AT&T IPad Data To Gawker

Law360, New York (November 21, 2012, 4:34 PM EST) -- A hacker was convicted Tuesday in New Jersey federal court on charges that he and a co-conspirator attacked servers at AT&T Inc. and stole the email addresses of 120,000 Apple iPad users, which they then provided to the website Gawker.com.

A jury found Andrew Auernheimer, head of the hacking group Goatse Security, guilty of conspiring to access the AT&T servers without authorization and disclose that information, and unlawful possession and transfer of means of identification of other persons, according to U.S. Attorney Paul J.
