Firefighters Target Sacramento With Overtime Suit

Law360 (November 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- California's state capital has been hit with a putative collective action Fair Labor Standards Act lawsuit accusing the city of shorting firefighters on overtime compensation by ignoring retroactive salary increases when calculating the plaintiffs' regular rate of pay.

Though the complaint filed against the city of Sacramento on Wednesday only lists one named plaintiff, there are more than a hundred prospective opt-in plaintiffs interested in joining the suit, plaintiffs' counsel David E. Mastagni said Thurdsay.
