Papst Alleges Licensing Breach Over Electronics Fan

Law360 (November 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- German licensing company Papst Licensing GmbH & Co. KG has filed a lawsuit against ACT-RX Technology Corp. and its U.S. arm alleging a breach of a patent-licensing agreement related to fans used to cool electronics.

The suit, filed in the circuit court of Cook County, Ill., said that Papst and ACT-RX have a license agreement for certain Papst patents related to brushless fans.

Under the agreement, Taiwan-based ACT-RX had to make royalty payments and periodic reports to Papst detailing worldwide sales of the fans, the complaint...
