NY Official Says Don't Cap Utility Shutoffs In Fortis Deal

Law360, New York (November 27, 2012, 4:53 PM EST) -- Canadian power giant Fortis Inc. shouldn't have to cap the number of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. customers whose service it can terminate for nonpayment as a condition of buying the New York utility, a state official said Tuesday, as the companies inch toward completing their $1.5 billion tie-up.
