Reimbursement Case Could Swamp Medicare With Appeals

Law360, New York (November 30, 2012, 9:26 PM EST) -- In a case that could flood Medicare with new reimbursement appeals going back decades, the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday will hear hospitals' arguments that the 180-day reimbursement appeals deadline should be extended when hospitals had no way of knowing, until long past the cutoff, that their annual payments from Medicare had been too low.
