Ex-VP Settles SEC's RenRe “Cookie Jar” Suit

Law360, New York (November 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The second of three former RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. executives has raised a white flag in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's suit over his alleged role in the scandal that broke when the reinsurance company allegedly cooked its books to smooth out earnings disparities.

Ex-senior vice president Michael Cash promised to fork over $130,000 and agreed to an anti-fraud injunction. The final consent judgment that Manhattan district Judge Gerald Lynch inked last Friday also barred him from heading a public company for the next five years....
